- Faber Blinds, a manufacturer of solar shading for the commercial, health, education and retail sectors, has launched a redesigned website, www.faberblinds.co.uk. The site showcases the firm鈥檚 range of internal and external blinds, including roller, venetian, vertical, pleated, blackout and rooflights for internal applications and roller, venetian, awning and brise-soleil options for external works.
- Icopal鈥檚 FormFlash, a lead replacement roofing product, has recently gained Secured by Design鈥檚 Police Preferred Specification accreditation. This is the first lead replacement roofing product to gain the quality standard. FormFlash is a waterproof material designed to replace traditional lead flashing, which has a high value and is often stolen from schools and churches.
- Foremans Relocatable 黑洞社区 Systems has published 鈥淎 Guide to Expanding Teaching Accommodation鈥, which gives tips to help schools avoid common pitfalls that may occur managing a modular project. It is available from www.foremansbuildings.co.uk.
- A guide to ceiling and wall systems for educational buildings has been launched by Armstrong Ceilings. Armstrong, a member of the British Council for School Environments, has produced a three-tier education kit for architects and specifiers.
- BSRIA has published a guide called 鈥淧itstopping - BSRIA鈥檚 reality checking process for Soft Landings鈥. Soft Landing is a process that aims to improve the post-occupancy performance of buildings. The guide outlines how design teams should periodically review critical design issues affecting building performance from the perspective
of the end user.
