Fifty-four storey Croydon scheme goes in for planning
Architect Make has submitted a planning application for an entirely new design for a 54-storey tower at the Cherry Orchard Road development in Croydon.
The scheme, which includes plans for 499 flats, a 165-bed four star hotel, 6,600 sq m of office space and a community centre, is the second Make-designed plan for the site for developer Menta.
In total the scheme envisages 69,000 sq m of development, which is seen as the anchor for the wider 200,000 sq m redevelopment of the East Croydon area.

Craig Marks of Menta said: 鈥淭he residential tower is set to be a beacon for further investment in Croydon, by positioning it firmly on the shortlist for both investors and occupiers looking at well connected and desirable locations to invest in the capital.鈥�
Menta withdrew Make鈥檚 previous design for the site after the council recommended the 拢500m scheme for refusal in July 2009.
