Three contracts come under the 黑洞社区 Schools for the Future programme
Kier has signed off on BSF contracts worth a combined 拢28m to rebuild and refurbish three schools in Cambridgeshire.
The three contracts were awarded by the Cambridgeshire Learning & Community Partnerships and cover Cromwell Community College in Chatteris, Sir Harry Smith Community College in Whittlesey and Meadowgate Special School in Wisbech.
Under the deal Kier Eastern will provide new accommodation and facilities at all three schools, as well as refurbishing much of their existing accommodation.
Construction will start on site this month, with work on the last of the three schools scheduled for completion by August 2013.
Alan Kippax, BSF programme director at Cambridgeshire county council, said: 鈥淭hese contracts have been signed six months earlier than originally planned.
鈥淭his has been achieved as a result of a huge amount of work by the three schools, the county council, our private sector partners and Partnerships for Schools, who have all worked extremely well together to ensure that these exciting developments go ahead.鈥
Kier Eastern managing director Graham Howe added:
鈥淭his is a tremendous achievement by all, and a tribute to the hard work, co-operation, support and positive approach by everyone involved.
鈥淚 know the staff and pupils are looking forward to their new facilities, and we look forward to working with them - we can鈥檛 wait to get started.鈥
