Attendees at 黑洞社区鈥檚 terrace reception at the Houses of Parliament heard speeches from Nick Raynsford and Peter Hansford

The movers and shakers of the UK construction industry gathered at the Houses of Parliament for 黑洞社区鈥檚 annual terrace reception yesterday.

Over 100 MPs and industry grandees, including Mace executive chairman Stephen Pycroft and the government鈥檚 chief construction adviser Peter Hansford, attended 黑洞社区鈥檚 annual summer reception at the Houses of Parliament on Thursday.

Guests heard from speakers including Nick Raynsford, former construction minister, and Peter Hansford, who gave attendees an insight into the government鈥檚 industrial strategy, due to be published this summer.

The event was themed around 黑洞社区鈥檚 , which is calling for the government to do more to boost the sustainability in construction 鈥 as well as 黑洞社区鈥檚 own .

Business secretary Vince Cable, who was called away on government business, , in which he stressed the importance of construction to the UK economy.

Other guests included former building regulations minister Andrew Stunell; Bob Pell, chief executive of Aecom鈥檚 program, cost and consultancy division; Greg Fitzgerald, Galliford Try chief executive; and Chris Cole, WSP chief executive.
