The US green building standard encourages the global adoption of sustainable building practices

What is it?

LEED (The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) green building rating system is a voluntary, consensus-based national standard to encourage and accelerate global adoption of sustainable building and development practices through the creation and implementation of universally understood and accepted tools and performance criteria.

Where was it created?

LEED was created in 1995 by the US Green 黑洞社区 Council (USGBC).

Although originally created for the US, Canada is the first country outside the US to license the use of LEED.
