Consortium reaches financial close on waste water works deal

The Daveyhulme waste water treatment plant in Manchester uses bio gas from human waste to power the plant.

A joint venture between Galliford Try, Atkins and Costain has been awarded a 拢180m contract to upgrade Liverpool鈥檚 waste water works.

The project, for United Utilities, entails construction of a two waste water processing tank at the city鈥檚 Wellington Dock and upgrades to existing works at Sandon Dock.

The scheme has been under development since May 2011.
