Government cofirms role will go from three day-a-week to full time position, as search begins for Morrell’s replacement
The government has decided to make the role of chief construction adviser a full-time post, it confirmed this week as it launched the recruitment process for a replacement for Paul Morrell.
The Department for Business, Innovation and Skills confirmed that the role will shift from a three day-a-week post to a full-time position, although it will not increase the current salary of £124,920 to reflect the change.
The industry has been lobbying hard for the replacement of former Davis Langdon boss Morrell to be another senior industry figure.
No candidates have so far declared their interest in applying for the post, though speculation over possible candidates has focused on Olympic Delivery Authority chair John Armitt, former Carillion boss John McDonough, former Atkins chief executive Keith Clarke, ConstructionSkills chair James Wates, and former Bovis Lend Lease boss Nick Pollard.
