On-line event offers free company information and live job vacancies as well as webinars advising on working abroad

Dates for the 2009 Virtual Careers Fair have been announced.

The free graduate recruitment fair, organised by the publishers of ºÚ¶´ÉçÇø magazine, will run on the 18 and 19 February 2009.

The two-day online event was created to help industry professionals advance their career in the built environment.

Virtual Grad Fair 2009

The unique format of the Virtual Careers Fair has been designed to enable job-seekers to interact online with a wide range of employers.

Users can explore the exhibitor booths, attend free online seminars and chat to exhibitors and other attendees in real time.

However, unlike a traditional exhibition, users can access the show from the comfort of their home, office or internet cafe.

The event offers candidates the chance to
• Meet employers from the UK and abroad
• Find and apply to the latest jobs
• Discuss career opportunities and development LIVE with leading companies
• Increase industry knowledge through free online seminars
• Network with fellow industry professionals globally

The event will also be offering a series of free online seminars, available for all registrants to take part in. These include:

Changing market - New opportunities


Speakers: Charles Davis from the centre for Economic and Business research, Eliot Davies, director of Hays Energy, Bob Athroll of Willmott Dixon and Milan Radosavljevic from the University of Reading.

The new frontier – Working in emerging markets


Speakers include: Evan Anderson of Blair Anderson (North Africa), Santiago Klein of consultant McBains Cooper in Latin America and Sarah Carter of Mace in Saudi Arabia.

Last year's fair attracted over 1,400 students with careers specialist the Write Stuff present offering free CV advice.

The 16 firms exhibiting last year included consultants Davis Langdon, Cyril Sweett, Turner & Townsend, Gleeds and Bouygues as wells as AK Design, WSP, Carillion and Leadbitter.
