Architect sees turnover increase to 拢41.1m as global expansion continues

Turnover at architect Broadway Malyan jumped 31% from 拢31.4m to 拢41.1m in the year ended 30 April 2007 as it continued its global expansion.

Pre-tax profit at the designer of the proposed 181m Vauxhall Tower in London, the tallest residential scheme in Europe, edged up from 拢1.72m to 拢1.74m over the same period.

The company, which employed an average of 470 people across 14 offices in Asia, Europe and the UK, opened sites in Liverpool and Abu Dhabi last year. It opened a Singapore office last month and more are planned.

A company statement said: 鈥淲e will continue to increase our exposure outside the UK to reduce our reliance on the country.鈥

Turnover contribution in the UK was 拢28.9m, meanwhile in Europe it was 拢7.2m and the rest of the world figure was 拢4.9m.

The highest-paid director took home 拢338,163 鈥 more than double last year鈥檚 figure of 拢148,443. The average staff wage was 拢43,468.
