Crown Estate plans for St James's Market

Bouygues has been appointed main contractor on a 拢15m residential phase of the Crown Estate鈥檚 拢450m St James鈥檚 Market scheme in central London.

Bouygues will redevelop 29-30 St James鈥檚 Street and 25-27 Bury Street into 17 homes.

The news comes after Balfour Beatty won an 拢87m contract to build a commercial and retail phase of the project last September.

Separately, the Crown Estate also agreed a deal with Network Housing Group for a 17-home scheme at Grosvenor Road in Pimlico.

Alastair Smart, head of development at The Crown Estate said: 鈥淭hese announcements demonstrate that all the elements of our St James鈥檚 Market scheme are continuing to make good progress.鈥
