Rick Mather Architects knows that when designing a minimalist building, its windows have a great bearing on its appearance.
At his recent Lincoln School of Architecture, the building's large oblong mass is broken up by various window types including ribbon, clerestory and slot. The clever variety of openings was not just for aesthetics 鈥� the windows had to be specified to provide as much natural ventilation as possible while protecting students from glare and noise.
