Table notes | |
Lifetime costs reflect typical increases in material costs and market conditions.
British standards have been superseded by European standards. A series of European standards cover fully supported roof products for pitched roofs – BS EN 501 for zinc, 502 for stainless steel, and 504 for copper. These define material qualities, tolerances, coatings, finishes and quality assurance.
Ferritic stainless steels, aluminium alloys, mild steel sheet coverings and metals with coatings are excluded.
Costs relate to the covering material; the substrate has been excluded.
Costs include initial supply and installation, plus removal and replacement at end of service life.
No maintenance is required and no repair costs are included.
Costs are discounted to net present values at a discount rate of 6%. |
