The Equality and Human Rights Commission is inviting people at all levels – from directors and site managers to trainees – to submit evidence to a formal inquiry into race and employment in the sector.
According to the Labour Force Survey 2008, only 3.3% of industry employees are from ethnic minorities, compared to 8% of workers generally. The inquiry will assess the extent of the problem, highlight best practice and make practical recommendations. Evidence forms are available at , and the deadline is 24 March.
