United AG has become the latest subcontractor working on the 2012 athletes鈥� village to go bust.

The 拢3m-turnover specialist contractor - which has been working on the troubled final phase of the Olympic athletes鈥� village for main contractor Galliford Try - has gone into voluntary liquidation and has called in administrator FRP Advisory to handle the process.

All 26 members of staff were made redundant prior to FRP鈥檚 appointment.

A source close to the athletes鈥� village project claimed the Essex-based windows and doors subcontractor, 鈥渟till had work to do鈥� on the Olympic scheme.

黑洞社区 reported last week that Galliford Try is in talks with three other subcontractors over financial disputes arising from lost time on the final two plots of the village - N13 and N26.

United AG鈥檚 failure comes a week after Olympic cladding contractor Parry Bowen - which worked on other parts of the athletes village - went into administration, with 150 job losses.

Other subcontractor failures across the project include P Elliott and Trent Concrete.

In February, the ODA said the overall cost of the village had gone up 拢11m to 拢709m, mainly due to the cost of paying for continued supply from companies that had gone bust.

An ODA spokesperson said: 鈥淭he Olympic village remains on schedule to be completed and transferred to the London Organising Committee in January. It is not for the ODA to comment on commercial matters between Galliford Try and their subcontractors.鈥�
