Report calls for a working group to be established to give architects better access to data on cities and people
The government could help to radically improve the design of buildings and public spaces by making data from the planning process more accessible, a report from the RIBA and Arup claims.
The report, published yesterday (Wednesday), calls for a working group to be established to 鈥渄igitise the planning process鈥. It is one of several measures that the report鈥檚 authors argue could improve architects鈥 work by providing better access to data on cities and people.
RIBA president Stephen Hodder said: 鈥淟ots of the data is available and already being collected, so why aren鈥檛 more architects taking advantage of it? We need the government to ensure this data is harnessed by local authorities and made available.鈥
