Jobs saved after administrators of Mainland Construction Group find buyer for division
The plant hire division of the Mainland Construction Group has been saved, less than a week after the administrators of the company set out to find a buyer.
The Northamptonshire firm went into administration last Thursday, leaving 150 jobs at risk after it closed its construction and civil engineering sections, but the plant hire division continued to operate.
Matt Evans, partner with administrator Bridge Business Recovery, said the rescue of the division is encouraging news in 鈥渢hese challenging economic times鈥.
The jobs of those working in the plant hire division have also been saved.
鈥淟ike many companies operating in construction, Mainland has struggled financially in the wake of the general economic slowdown, resulting in the closure of several areas of its business,鈥 said Evans.
