Office workers use 250,000 Smarties to create largest ever mural depicting London landmarks
This week visitors to a park in West London will be attempting to make Guinness World Record history by creating the world’s largest mural made entirely from sweets.
Throughout the week, guests at Chiswick Park will be using 250,000 Smarties to create a mural depicting major London landmarks including the London Eye, Big Ben, the Royal Albert Hall and Wembley Stadium. The finished result will total nearly 500 sq ft.
More than 4,000 office workers at the park, which is home to companies such as Discovery, Foxtons and Paramount, will be working on the mural using every colour of Smartie, and on Friday 25 July the result will be unveiled to the public – as well as to a Guinness World Record adjudicator to verify the project’s success.
The mural is designed to encourage people to make the most of what the city has to offer, highlighting London’s major landmarks and iconic buildings. The Chiswick Park Enjoy-Work Team is also organising camel rides, bungee jumping and life-size table football this summer as a way of encouraging local office workers and the wider London community to achieve a healthy work-life balance.
Each event runs between 12 noon and 2pm every Friday. For more information, visit www.enjoy-work.com
