DLUHC appoints two new ministers, including a minister for housng
The Department for Levelling Up Housing and Communities has appointed two new ministers as Boris Johnson鈥檚 new-look temporary government takes shape.
Marcus Jones joins the department as housing minister, once again serving under his old departmental boss Greg Clark, with whom he worked in 2015 and 2016 as a junior minister.
Jones, has previously served as a government whip and is a former vice-chair of the Conservative party for local government. is chair of the all-party parliamentary group for town centres.
Jones on Twitter said described housing as 鈥渁n important and challenging brief鈥.
I am pleased to be appointed as a Minister of State (Minister for Housing) in the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities.

This is an important and challenging brief and I look forward to giving all my energy and attention to this demanding role.
DLUHC also appointed Paul Scully as a department minister. Scully previously served as a junior minister in the Department of Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy. He will also continue as minister for London.
