The National Exhibition Centre (NEC) has re-opened the race to refurbish its National Indoor Arena in Birmingham, after failing to agree commercial terms with Galliford Try.

The NEC issued an OJEU for the job this morning, which was previously valued at 拢18m.

Galliford Try was appointed preferred bidder last September, but the NEC confirmed it ended the contract after the two parties were 鈥渦nable to reach a commercially suitable outcome鈥.

The notice added: 鈥淭he NEC has since worked hard on the design to ensure that the scheme is affordable for the market and not relying just on market forces to bring the project on budget.

鈥淭he constraints of planning approvals and main sponsor terms for the Arena means the selection of new contractor is required without delay.鈥

Galliford Try is constructing an for client Genting UK.
