London housing developer buys Nine Elms site for 拢92.5m from telecoms giant BT
London housing developer Mount Anvil has bought a 36-storey brick skyscraper scheme in Nine Elms for 拢92.5m.
Mount Anvil, in joint venture with housing association A2Dominion, has bought the site in Vauxhall from telecoms giant BT.
The site - once home to the world鈥檚 largest international telephone exchange - will be redeveloped into the UK鈥檚 tallest residential brick tower, providing 415 homes and 3,500 sq m of commercial and retail space.
BT has already obtained planning permission for the Allies and Morrison-designed tower, which Mount Anvil will build through its in-house contracting arm.
Mount Anvil bought the scheme in joint venture with housing association A2Dominion, which will build and run the affordable housing portion of the scheme.
Work is expected to start on site in Spring 2015 with completion expected at the end of 2018.
