Flintshire wing assembly factory design and build job is expected to create work for 400 people
Morgan Ashurst has won a 拢71.4m contract from aircraft maker Airbus to build a new high-tech composite wing assembly facility in Broughton, Flintshire.
The 52,300m虏 North Factory facility will be used to make carbon fibre wings and include workshops and offices and is expected to complete in October 2010.
The Morgan Sindall subsidiary claims the job create work for 400 people employed within the company and through its 15 supply chain partners. Morgan Ashurst will also install the utilities for the building including power, gas, water and compressed air.
It will deliver the scheme with its sister company, Morgan Professional Services (MPS), which will design the entire building and providing architectural, civil and structural engineering design and the concept for the mechanical and electrical services.
The building will be steel-framed in a three-bay configuration with a 40,2000m虏 assembly area floor plate supported by around 8,000 piles.
