Ritchie: "so prosaic, so dull, so cheap"

Ritchie, who directed Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels and Snatch, said that modern developments are 鈥渟kid marks鈥 that have 鈥渞uined鈥 the UK's capital city.

He said: 鈥淭he vast slew of modern buildings are so prosaic, so dull, so cheap. They are just blots on the landscape, skid marks lacerating our topography and geography. Paris and Rome are like supermodels in comparison.鈥

The director shares a mansion in Marylebone with his wife, the pop singer Madonna. The couple also own a pub in Mayfair, as well as a country house in Wiltshire.
