Social housing contractor wins 拢120m of work in three months

Social housing contractor Mears said it is still seeing positive growth in its core markets and is looking to make further acquisitions.

As disclosed in May, Mears has won 拢120m of new work since it reported final results in March, including a 拢52m 10-year repair and maintenance contract with housing association Bedfordshire Pilgrims.

In a statement released in advance of its annual general meeting today, Mears鈥� chairman Bob Holt said the 鈥減ositive trends referred to in the May statement are continuing.鈥�

Mears today said it was seeing 鈥渉igh levels of opportunity in the public sector,鈥� and said it was looking to grow its social housing business organically, but was looking to make further acquisitions in its other main market, of providing home care.

Mears Care is well placed to lead and consolidate the domiciliary care market and we continue to target acquisitions that will expand the range of care services provided to people in their homes.鈥�
