Office and retail scheme is for the Crown Estate and Exemplar
Mace will help redevelop London鈥檚 famous Regent Street under a new 拢50m contract.
The firm has been appointed for the Regent Street Block W4 job by the Crown Estate and developer Exemplar following competition from Sir Robert McAlpine and Bam Construct, 黑洞社区 understands.
The scheme, the latest part of the Crown Estate鈥檚 拢1bn Regent Street Vision progamme, has planning permission and will create 50,000ft2 of new retail space and 140,000ft2 of office space, but will retain the listed frontages of 169-183 Regent Street and 3 and 4 New Burlington Street.
As part of the new development, 45 homes will be built in a nearby street, 22 of which will be affordable family homes.
The overall scheme is due for completion at the end of 2013.
