Mace and Hornagold & Hills have made it to the final shortlist in the race to become programme manager on the Convoys Wharf project in Lewisham, south-east London, for client Hutchison Whampoa.
The scheme is on a 16ha site masterplanned by Richard Rogers Partnership. An image of what it could look like is on the right. It is understood that Hutchison Whampoa is in the process of buying the land from News International.
Regeneration plans for the brownfield site include three towers of between 26 and 40 storeys. There will be 337,980m2 of residential development for 3,500 homes, 72,730m2 of offices and 6,945m2 of retail. The development will also include a business park, cultural facilities, a high street and riverside walk and a main square.
Hornagold & Hills and Mace declined to comment.
Others consultants on the project are Buro Happold, Faithful + Gould, Bell Fischer and Montagu Evans.
Public transport upgrades are planned, including bus links to rail stations and the Greenwich Waterfront Transit scheme.
