Former chairman of housebuilder Wilson Connolly was killed in an accident in Scotland on Wednesday

Lynn Wilson, the former chairman of housebuilder Wilson Connolly, has died in a car accident.

The 69-year-old was involved in a crash between a lorry, a 4X4 and a car in Scotland. The accident occurred on the A96 near Forres in Moray on Wednesday afternoon.

Roger Humber, strategic policy adviser to the House Builders Association, has led the tributes to Mr Wilson. 鈥淟ynn was a great friend to me and many others in the industry,鈥 he said. 鈥淗e was also a very important president in the formative days of the Home Builders Federation, pointing to what it subsequently became.

鈥淗is friendly and likeable personality ran with a clear vision and strength to argue what was then unpopular. I have spoken to a lot of former colleagues in the last 24 hours and we are simply shocked.鈥

Mr Wilson, a keen racehorse owner, sold the Wilson Connolly business to Taylor Woodrow for 拢480m in 2003. He was also the ex-president of Northamptonshire County Cricket Club.
