The closing date for entries into the ºÚ¶´ÉçÇø Awards is Friday 26 November 2004, so if you have not already done so, you have one week to get your entries to us.

The annual ºÚ¶´ÉçÇø Awards 2005 is the largest and most spectacular awards event in the construction industry calendar, attracting almost twice as many attendees as its counterparts.

The awards seek to recognise the finest firms in the business, rewarding the industry’s best performances in 2003/04. Each award is individually sponsored, and this year’s list of sponsors includes a host of high-profile blue-chip companies. Previous award winners have enjoyed widespread media coverage and substantial marketing advantages from their success. Entrants will be subject to a rigorous judging process, conducted by a panel of industry leaders.

This year we have several new awards categories. Ken Shuttleworth’s architectural practice, Make, is sponsoring the outstanding achievement of the year award. The aim of the award is to recognise an individual who has gone that extra mile to achieve a higher standard of project delivery – for example, by demonstrating a leading edge in innovation or perhaps through efficiency in reducing project time, costs and waste.

Also new for 2005 is the best major housebuilding development award, sponsored by British Gypsum. This category requires no formal entry, as projects will be nominated and assessed by a panel of leading housing experts.

Other awards include the young achiever of the year, judged by a specialist panel set up by sponsor CITB-ConstructionSkills, and entrepreneur of the year, an accolade open to any type of construction business or individual, which seeks to reward achievement, creativity and business flair.
