Proposal for Bishopgate Tower dwarfes London’s famous Gherkin.
Plans for a 307-metre tower in the City of London have been submitted to the Corporation of London. If approved, the Kohn Pedersen Fox-designed Bishopgate Tower would be only 2.5m smaller than the London Bridge tower, also known as the Shard of Glass, which has been granted planning by Southward Council.
The proposed site for the Bishopgate Tower is next to the Leadenhall ºÚ¶´ÉçÇø, a 221-metre building designed by Richard Rogers that has already been given approval. A spiralling, glass-clad structure, the Bishopgate Tower would include 89,000m2 of office space.
