Kier has topped the tables for October, bagging 68 contracts worth a combined 拢378m.

Meanwhile, Wates has been buoyed up into second spot on the table including civils by two new-build school contracts it has been awarded by the Education & Skills Funding agency. Located in Ipswich and Bracknell, these are worth a combined 拢115m.

The firm, which last month lost its chief executive Andrew Davies to rival contractor Carillion, has also picked up a 拢23m contract to build a new patient facility for Tees, Esk and Wear Valley NHS Foundation in York.

Balfour Beatty and Willmott Dixon are on the next two rungs on the table including civils. 

On the table excluding civils, Willmott Dixon has moved into second spot behind Kier. It won its place on the back of a contract haul worth over 拢122m. The firm has been appointed to build a new 拢30m secondary school in Cardiff, as well as a 拢19.5m hotel in Bristol for Village Urban Resorts Hotel.

The middle of the table for contractors including civils is occupied by Robertson Group, VolkerWessels, Morgan Sindall and Alun Griffths, while Multiplex and Bougyues round it off with one contract each.

Multiplex鈥檚 contract is from the University of Glasgow for the construction of its new research hub. Bouygues, has won the contract to build Canterbury Riverside 鈥� a mixed-use scheme in the historic cathedral city comprising a new cinema, 189 new homes, and a 484-bed student accommodation block, as well as retail facilities and a canoe house and pontoon.

On the cumulative yearly table, Kier also takes top spot, having won 拢2.5bn of projects in the year to the end of October.
