Keltbray Group saw a 24% increase in turnover last year with revenue up to 拢108m.

Announcing its results for the year to 31 October 2011, the specialist engineering, construction, decommissioning and environmental services provider, which has around 800 employees across the business, said turnover rose from 拢87m the previous year to 拢108m.

During the same period, operating profit rose to 拢420,000.

Group chief executive and owner, Brendan Kerr, said: 鈥淒espite the prolonged, weak economic climate we are currently operating in, Keltbray is experiencing significant growth, and has started to reap the benefits of an assertive diversification strategy and extended geographical reach.

鈥淔rom being a demolition and civils focused business in the South East; Keltbray is emerging into a turnkey specialist business, which provides integrated services to meet the needs of diverse and complex contracts in the areas of demolition and civil engineering, rail and environmental materials management nationwide.鈥 

Kerr said Keltbray鈥檚 strategy to invest in the areas of rail, nuclear and waste management was now 鈥渂earing fruit鈥, with the company鈥檚 rail operations, which cover engineering, electrification, track, plant hire and signalling, increasing its turnover by 67%.

The firm鈥檚 demolition and civils operations, which include demolition, specialist civil engineering and groundworks, piling, asbestos handling, haulage and plant hire, increased its turnover by 20% over the period.
