Property tycoon is submitting plans for £400m retail and office complex at London Bridge.
Irvine Sellar is planning to build a £400m office and shopping complex alongside the proposed Shard of Glass skyscraper at London Bridge.
The Times reported that the 600,000ft2 development would be designed by Renzo Piano and be submitted for planning early in the new year.
The proposals include a tower two thirds the size of Canary Wharf, which will replace an existing 1970s building called New London Bridge House. The new building will take the same name and will feature 36,000sq ft of solar panels.
A new bigger bus station will be constructed to the north of the building and the area between the Shard of Glass and the new complex will be turned into a large public space.
The glass shard will be Europe’s tallest tower once it is built.
