First three schools of the 拢250m city's BSF programme are handed over to Education Leeds

The first schools to be completed as part of Leeds' 拢250m 黑洞社区 Schools for the Future (BSF) programme have been officially handed over to Education Leeds.

The Interserve-led consortium Environment for Learning has built three brand-new secondary schools: Allerton High, Rodillian and Pudsey Grangefield.

The Leeds BSF programme covers 13 secondary schools altogether, including five new builds and eight to be rebuilt or refurbished.

Chris Edwards, chief executive of Education Leeds, said: 鈥淓ducation Leeds has been transforming learning through state-of-the-art buildings and facilities for some years but these extraordinary buildings take this to a new height.鈥�

The purpose-built, specialist buildings are designed to provide flexible learning spaces and cutting-edge school environments. New features will include a lecture theatre, breakout spaces and adjustable-sized classrooms.

Leeds is one of 14 local authorities in the first wave of BSF, the government's programme to rebuild or renew every secondary school in England.
