Firm turned over 拢200m last year
Technical services engineering group Imtech has acquired the UK business of multi-technical services firm SPIE UK in a deal worth more than 拢40m.
SPIE UK is one of the top 10 mechanical and engineering companies in the country, achieving a turnover of 拢200m in 2021.
It offers a range of speciality services in industrial instrumentations, clean rooms and life safety solutions 鈥 according to Imtech, the deal helps it toward its goal of expanding business in targeted sectors such as education, industry and infrastructure.
Imtech, which is jointly owned by EDF and Dalkia, paid a total 拢43.4m for the firm, which will add a further 1,800 employees to its existing 2,100.
Rob Goodhew, chief executive at SPIE UK Ltd, said the firm 鈥渄eveloped cutting-edge expertise鈥 and that joining Imtech was a 鈥済reat opportunity for us to capitalise on our strengths and further develop the business鈥.
Imtech chief executive Gautier Jacob, Simone Rossi, chief executive of EDF Energy, Sylvie J茅hanno, chair and chief executive of Dalkia welcomed the company.
The deal will allow EDF to support its customers鈥 progress toward net zero, while Dalkia鈥檚 J茅hanno said the acquisition aligned with their strategic objective to expand its UK operations.
