Armstrong Ceilings will launch its new range of CoolZone tiles at Ecobuild in London on 20-22 March
Armstrong claims that the tiles reduce the need for air-conditioning in an average office by four to five hours. The system mixes BASF Micronal phase-change material with Armstrong’s plain metal ceiling tiles. The material is a combination of polymer capsules and wax, which is mixed with gypsum. The firm adds that as the room warms up during the day and cools at night the wax melts and hardens, helping to control the heat in the room. It is suitable for healthcare buildings.
