Officials at Croydon council have recommended permission be refused for architect Make鈥檚 拢500m Cherry Orchard Road regeneration scheme for developer Menta.

The plan, which envisages the construction of four towers of up to 35 storeys on the site to the east of the train station, was due to be considered by councillors this week after 黑洞社区 went to press.

Craig Marks at Menta said he was 鈥渟urprised and disappointed鈥� at the decision. He said: 鈥淲e now need to give very careful consideration to the reasons given by the council for its failure to support the application at this late stage, before we determine how to take things forward.鈥�
