DIY buff spent 20 years redecorating tower block flat with ceiling paintings and wood carvings
A DIY buff has revamped his tower block flat in the fashion of the Palace of Versailles in France, though he has never seen a picture of it.
Adrian Reeman, from Southampton has spent around 20 years redecorating his ninth-floor home with ceiling paintings and carefully-crafted furniture.
Reeman, who has Asperger鈥檚 Syndrome, said he enjoyed attention to detail and had only intended to decorate one room, the BBC said.
He described himself as a 鈥渧isual thinker鈥� who sees 鈥渢hings with pictures鈥�. He said he got carried away with his love of arts and crafts.
The flat was built in the 1960s, and includes pictures and ceiling art, and features wood carvings, a large mirror and a large imposing fire place.
He said he regretted starting it. 鈥淚 wish I hadn鈥檛 started it in the first place,鈥� he told the BBC. 鈥淚t has taken so much time,鈥� he said.
"I haven't even seen the Palace of Versailles, that all started off in one of the papers. I wouldn't know what it looked like."
The 17th Century Palace of Versailles, on the outskirts of Paris was the main residence of the French kings, from Louis XIV to Louis XVI.
