Ivan Pope pleaded guilty in court after two men were spotted dismantling a pub roof in Lincolnshire using an upturned bucket as scaffolding

A demolition contractor has been fined 拢6,000 for allowing his son to work on a pub roof using an excavator鈥檚 upturned bucket as a platform.

Ivan Pope pleaded guilty to breaching the Health and Safety Act and was ordered to pay 拢13,483 in costs by Leicester crown court.

The Health and Safety Executive prosecuted Pope after two men were spotted dismantling the roof of a disused pub in Lincolnshire in January 2008, using the upturned bucket of an excavator to work from instead of scaffolding.
