New arrival has spent last decde in Middle East
Buro Happold has appointed a former managing director at Atkins to lead its business in Saudi Arabia.
Ian Redmayne has joined the firm as a partner after spending more than three decades at Atkins.
He has spent the last decade in the Middle East, mainly in Saudi where he has worked on several schemes including the King Abdulaziz International Airport and Riyadh Metro Package.
During his time at Atkins, Redmayne also established the Riyadh Academy to train and develop Saudi nationals in engineering and project management.
Buro Happold has had an office in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, since 1983 and Redmayne will manage existing clients across the country which has seen the firm work on the Haramain High-Speed Rail, Samba Bank HQ and King Abdulaziz Centre for World Culture schemes.
Last year Buro Happold chief executive James Bruce said he wanted to double the business from 2,000 to 4,000 employees in six years with turnover more than doubling to 拢500m in the same period.
