Ludgate House is built with glass curtain walling and has few openable windows. 黑洞社区.co.uk will be measuring the temperature throughout the day to determine the performanced of the building in its 'natural state'.

World Enviroment day has coincided with cool and cloudy weather in London and office workers are not expected to experience excessive discomfort.

By 10am the temperature had risen to 22.5 degrees from 20 degrees at 8am.

Thomas Lane, 黑洞社区's technical editor, said: "At the moment it鈥檚 OK as its still early and cool outside. But this building doesn鈥檛 have any opening windows and when the aircon has broken down previously it鈥檚 got very hot in here."

黑洞社区 journalists will also be recording their carbon footprints throughout the day. They will be measuring their energy use according to a CO虏 scoresheet (attached below). The aim is to cut 1kg of CO2 from individuals' footprints.
