Plumbing merchant buys tools supplier from Premier Farnell

The BSS group has acquired tools supplier BuckHickman from Premier Farnell for 拢27m.

The deal is expected to conclude in four weeks following consultation with BuckHickman employees.

BuckHickman made an operating loss of 拢0.8m on a turnover of 拢99.8m for the year ended 28 January 2007. Gross assets were 拢35.4m.

BSS chief executive Gavin Slark said: 鈥淚 am delighted that we have secured one of the leading names in the tools and site safety sector.鈥�

BSS shares rose 8p to 482p this morning.
