Deal means customers can carry on using its CE mark after UK leaves EU
Accreditation group BRE has said it has been given the go-ahead to carry on supplying its CE mark to the European market once the UK leaves the EU.
BRE said it has been given accreditation from the Irish National Accreditation Board (INAB) to operate as a Notified Body and a Technical Assessment Body.
The group said that now BRE Global Ireland鈥檚 accreditation assessment report has been accepted, the next step is a designation from the Irish government to the EU.
BRE Global Ireland will then receive a new Notified Body number from the European Commission, which it said its customers will need to use in their literature and product labels.
BRE Global managing director Debbie Smith said: 鈥淏RE Global Ireland is fully committed to providing our customers 鈥 existing and new, with the support they need to continue delivering their products into the European market. Being formally recognised by INAB is a key part of that.鈥
