Student resi scheme is part of ongoing Island Quarter regeneration

Bowmer & Kirkland is building the latest phase of a 拢1.4bn redevelopment in Nottingham with a 12-storey student accommodation block at the city鈥檚 Island Quarter site.

Construction of the 693-bed block, part of the 36-acre Island Quarter, is already underway and will be ready in September 2024.

Conygar has announced Bowmer + Kirkland as is its project partner for the student accommodation phase

Work is already underway on site in Nottingham

The Day Architectural-designed accommodation will offer a range of room types, including studio flats and cluster living, to help address the predicted deficit of 7,000 student beds in the city.

The 拢1.4bn Island Quarter regeneration is being developed by Conygar Investment Company.

Last month, CPMG submitted plans for a major new bioscience complex as part of the site.

The 245,000 sq ft research and laboratory scheme will consist of two blocks of five and seven storeys connected by a glazed link at upper levels.

The scheme would build out the northern edges of the wider 36-acre development, which also features B&K鈥檚 student accommodation block.

Island Quarter, which has been masterplanned by Leonard Design Architects and Studio Egret West, is located on the city鈥檚 former Boots Island site and was given outline planning permission in 2019.

The first phase of work at the site was awarded to Sir Robert McAlpine over two years ago and involved a three-storey pavilion on the waterfront featuring two restaurants and events space.
