Bouygues has won a £240m ºÚ¶´ÉçÇø Schools for the Future contract in Tower Hamlets, east London.
The French contractor and Ramesys, its IT partner, were named preferred bidders this week.
A consortium led by Balfour Beatty and Babcock & Brown dropped out two months ago and Apollo Education withdrew in November.
This is the third BSF deal that Bouygues has signed in London, after Waltham Forest and Westminster. It is also the UK arm’s first large contract win since Madani Sow replaced Pascal Minault as chairman in June.
The first schools to be redeveloped will be Bethnal Green Technology College, which will be partly rebuilt and partly refurbished, and St Paul’s Way Community School which will be completely rebuilt. The remaining 16 schools will be redeveloped after this.
