The British Council for School Environment鈥檚 chief executive Nusrat Faizullah has stepped down from the organisation

The British Council for School Environment鈥檚 chief executive Nusrat Faizullah has announced she will be leaving the organisation at the end of November.

In a statement Faizullah, who has been with the organisation for just over a year, said: 鈥淭he BCSE is in a stronger position than it was when I joined a year ago. I have worked hard to ensure a secure and productive future for the organisation and look forward to seeing how the organisation progresses in the future.鈥�

BCSE chair Rachel Jones, said: 鈥淲e鈥檇 like to thank Nusrat for her commitment and hard work over the last 14 months, and wish her all the best for the future.鈥�

鈥淭he board of trustees have asked Sharon Wright to join the BCSE as interim CEO for three months.

鈥淒r Wright has a long track record working in the education design and construction field, and has been involved with the BCSE since its inception. She has already started working alongside the chief executive to help facilitate a smooth handover.

鈥淗er appointment will allow the BCSE to continue its work on the role and development of learning environments that support children, teachers and communities.鈥�

The organisation expects to make a long term appointment in the new year.
