Defence group will be integrated in Atkin's design and engineering business

Atkins has acquired independent defence consultancy Advantage Business Group for 拢19.4m.

Advantage will be integrated into Atkins鈥� design and engineering solutions business. The combined division will offer engineering and support to government and industry for defence projects.

Ivor Catto, managing director of Atkins鈥� design and engineering solutions business, said: 鈥淲e are pleased to be able to combine the Advantage and Atkins capabilities to broaden our systems engineering skills and strengthen our through-life capability management in order to serve our customers better.鈥�

Advantage employs approximately 180 staff, primarily from offices in Farnham and Bristol.
