Discount supermarket chain plans to hire 8,000 new staff in expansion plans

Aldi has announced plans to open more than 130 new stores and hire 8,000 more staff as part of a 拢600m UK expansion.

The discount supermarket chain has overtaken Waitrose to become the sixth-biggest supermarket in the UK with 5.3% market share.

The new stores will see the chain鈥檚 workforce first to a total of 35,000, the firm is looking to build small-scale stores with a build value of 拢1m-拢3m each rather than the superstores of Sainsbury鈥檚 and Tesco.
