Morgan Professional Services (MPS) has been appointed to provide the civil, structural and mechanical and electrical engineering design for the £187m Wigan Life Centre
The PFI scheme (pictured) will create a leisure, health, learning and information complex. MPS has been briefed to minimise CO2 emissions and whole-life operational costs. The plans include a centralised combined heat and power plant. Morgan Ashurst is leading the design and construction of the life centre, which will retain the 1930s terracotta facade of the old municipal building it will replace. Completion is scheduled for 2011.
