3:10PM Firm QS on office scheme and sports academy in the Southwest and North

Gardiner & Theobald is QS on two major regional schemes in Salisbury and Scunthorpe. The first scheme, for Salisbury council, has just received planning permission and is situated on the Bourne Hill area on the edge of the city centre.

The project, designed by architect Stanton Williams, involves refurbishing an 18th century grade II-listed building and adding a 4,000m² block of offices and public facilities. A series of natural stone fins 12m high will clad the building.

The second scheme is an architectural competition just won by firm Andrew Wright Associates for a "gentle but bold vision" of six shallow domes with green roofs. The £15m project for North Lincolnshire sports academy in Scunthorpe is designed to meld into the existing Central Park. The six domes will be supported on triangular timber grids and be planted with heathers. As well as a 25m swimming pool, they will contain a sports hall and café.
