Let there be no doubt about it – accident prevention “corners” are being scaled back (“Experts warn recession may cause on-site danger”, 6 January, building.co.uk)
SMEs, the bulk of the UK construction industry, are being forced to cut back in practical terms. Their prime objective to win/acquire work is to be able to tick the so-called pre-qualification boxes to the satisfaction/quirk of a desk-bound assessor.
Doubt what I say? Just look at the site you walk by each day or at the pictures submitted to ڶ by concerned observers.
