As the newly appointed chairman of the Association of Consultant Approved Inspectors (which represents about 30% of the building control industry), I would like to endorse the five manifesto proposals, particularly the first two. It is noted however, that the private sector building control was not included in the summit, and we do have much to offer such a group in any regulation reform.
One area that we would like to emphasise is the need for projects to secure a completion/final certificate for the works undertaken and the consequences of not having such a certificate reinforced.
